Our History

We’ll make this brief.
Founded in 1992, PGA had no intention of meeting industry expectations. The plan was to surpass standards, or nothing at all.

And surpass them we did. We recorded a number of firsts, the most impressive being our airing of the first Nigerian ad on CNN. Our work went from being showcased across the nation, to being seen on a global scale. And now, with the adoption of ‘Africa’ into our brand identity, our sights are set on continental dominance.

We’re here, we’ll never be square, we are Prima Garnet Africa.

Whilst he is easily the most mischievous person in the entire agency, ‘Lolu hides one of the most astute minds in marketing communications behind constant shenanigans and endless jokes. With a professional career spanning decades, there are few names in the communications world as well-known, or influential as ‘Lolu Akinwunmi.

Yetunde is the calming presence in what can sometimes be a madhouse of an agency. Her professional experience and expertise are invaluable in every aspect of PGA’s activities. These attributes are closely followed in importance by her fashion sense, which is cherished by many of the characters who staff the agency.

Bisi is a proud representative of the two staples of PGA Brand Management leadership, the first aspect of which is a vast working knowledge of the ins and outs of advertising. The second, unsurprisingly, is her extensive shoe collection, an asset she will never hesitate to show off.

Production and Procurement

Duke still harbours intentions of someday jumping out of a moving plane with a parachute strapped to his back. So far however, his wife’s prayers have ensured that those intentions remain firmly in the dream realm. In the interim, Duke heads our production and procurement department, bringing with him many years spent across different marketing communications agencies.

The creative studio’s leading man has a knack for taking young art-directors under his wing and showing them the ropes. Kenny should be nicknamed ‘The Walls’, because no matter how low you whisper, he’s going to hear exactly what you said. That aside, he’s well known for churning out some of the cleanest and most thought-provoking art work around.

While not quite Neo in The Matrix, Yemi still navigates the online space with a deftness very similar to the classic hero. His digital skills have been honed across several agencies and many gigabytes of cyber space, making him an authority on all things internet and social media related.

PGA’s resident wordsmith and grammar-nazi is a man of many words, a trait he never fails to show off. Since Woma found his way into advertising years ago, he has penned the words on several brands and campaigns across the industry.

There is a growing suspicion amongst many in the agency that Oshio’s impossibly dense beard serves as a depot where he hides his never-ending stash of snacks. A multiple award-winning producer, Oshio is never far away from a studio, a camera, a script, or a chocolate bar.

Our money man spends most of his time ensuring that PGA’s portfolio of assets is firmly kept secured. A chartered accountant of repute, Funsho hides his sense of humour behind his ever present bifocals, and has accumulated several years of experience in the world of finance.
